When her husband of more than forty years leaves her for their private chef, sixty-three-year-old Mebel heads to culinary school, convinced mastering the kitchen is the key to winning him back. Instead of glamorous Paris, she lands in a tiny English village, where she struggles to fit in with classmates half her age. Things take a sharp turn when her new friend Gemma suddenly vanishes, and Mebel finds herself digging into a mystery that’s far more sinister than burnt soufflés. With plenty of laughs, heart, and a dash of amateur sleuthing, this cosy mystery serves up second chances, unlikely friendships, and proof that retirement can still be one heck of an adventure.
