PhD student and literature tutor Rose has built a carefully controlled life, but a message to Adrian reawakens desires she has tried to bury. Their brief encounter five years earlier still haunts her, and, newly separated from long-term partner Sebastian, she is ready to question what she wants. Drawn into Melbourne’s underground erotic clubs, Rose discovers unfamiliar forms of intimacy and play that challenge the boundaries she thought defined her. Excitement is accompanied by fear as experiences in this new world force her to confront the scars of her past. Her journey becomes a reckoning with trust, agency and identity as she learns to understand and express desires she once kept hidden.
