Semi-retired Irish nun Sister Agatha Murphy strikes up an unexpected friendship with Avtar Mehta, the owner of a historic hotel in Old Delhi, over cigarettes and gossip. Their new partnership is put to the test when a street robbery, a body inside the hotel and a missing pilgrim guest bring the police to its door. Eager for quick answers, the authorities threaten to close the Delhi Haveli Hotel along with their cases. With Christmas approaching and a terrorism scare adding to the pressure, Agatha and Avtar set out to uncover the truth. They must stay ahead of the police, the Indian secret service and a concealed killer while retaining their humour amid the bustle of the city.
