Gemma is confident in her high-flying career, close friendships with April and Anna, and a dating life that never requires commitment. Luxury hotelier Max is equally content to move between London and New York without settling down. When they meet during an important hotel pitch, their attraction is immediate, but Max is Anna's brother, and Anna has made it clear that he is off limits. Gemma is used to walking away from men without a second thought; this time, the one man she should avoid is the hardest to resist. Their shared reluctance to commit offers little protection as professional contact and forbidden desire collide, putting Gemma's carefully managed life and loyalty to her best friend under pressure.
