After her mother’s sudden death, Max returns to the magical village she left behind and takes temporary charge of Lamplight Books. The shop has a peculiar gift for matching readers with exactly the books they need, but Max has never believed she belongs among Lampton’s magic. Planning to endure only two weeks before selling, she instead finds herself drawn into the lives of customers and neighbours who understand both the shop and her mother in ways she does not.
