Single mother Zoe Copeland needs an affordable fresh start for herself and her eleven-year-old daughter, Florence. A neglected cottage in a tiny seaside town offers a chance, but the house is packed with possessions left by its former owner, Marly. Florence delights in its accumulated treasures while Zoe struggles with the scale of the task. Their gruff neighbour Jake lends a hand, and Zoe begins to see the possibility of romance as well as a home. Clearing the clutter draws her into Marly’s history and reveals unsettling parallels with her own life. When Zoe’s past resurfaces, the work of rebuilding the cottage becomes entwined with the harder task of rebuilding trust, security and a future for her family.
